Echo

Shadow
Not the absence of light.

But light,
meeting form.

The invisible conversation
between the world
and the one who’s open to receive it.

Echo emerged during one of my first walks on La Réunion. What drew my attention was not the palm itself, but its shadow… an encounter between light and form that lingered beyond the moment. The work became less about the tree than about the quiet imprint a place can leave within us.

Rather than documenting a landscape, Echo explores how landscapes are received. Some places are first understood through the body: through atmosphere, rhythm, light and presence. Before they become memory, they become sensation.

The shadow is not merely an absence. It is a trace of relation… An invisible conversation between the world and the one who is open enough to receive it.
