Intimacy does not begin
with touch,
with words,
with bodies leaning toward one another.
It begins in how you stay.
With yourself.
In sensation.
In truth.
Intimacy is the capacity
To inhabit your body
without rushing it open.
To feel desire rise
without immediately offering it away.
To let longing move through you
without asking it to perform.
From the inside,
intimacy is regulation.
A nervous system that knows
it does not need to be taken
to be alive.
From the inside,
intimacy is erotic.
Not loud,
not urgent,
but alive.
Breathing.
Listening.
When intimacy is outsourced,
connection becomes hunger.
Touch becomes proof.
The other is asked
to hold what you have not yet held.
But when intimacy is cultivated inward
slowly, honestly
something shifts.
You no longer reach to be filled.
You arrive already inhabited.
And then,
when another comes close,
it is not fusion
it is not completion.
It is recognition.
A resonance.
A shared warmth.
Intimacy is an inside practice.
Everything else
is simplya meeting of flames.

Feel free to rise
because your fire
already has a hearth.
